Respect People's Ideas and Support their Dreams.
Correct me if am wrong, but I believe it was Albert Einstein that said "Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb tress, it will live the rest of its life believing that it is stupid". Why are our kids and youths being judge by what they can not do? Why are they constantly called stupid just because they don't understand vocabulary or because they can't solve equations? But yet you find that same kid to be a great cook, a good barber, a good mechanic, a good dancer, a good cleaner, but lack of academic excellence makes him/her worthy enough to become stupid? No! The stupid ones are the teachers and parents who want the best for their kids but ignores everything good in them. "Success is not acquired, it is developed from what you are inside. From writing love letters to writing love novels, from cooking in empty cans to owning restaurant, from driving bamboo cars to driving trucks and buses, from fixing a light bulb to fixing a transformer. I get that every parents want what's best for their child, they want their kids to be someone important, but your kids are already someone, it is left for you to treat what they are as important, respect their ideas, help them create their dreams. There might not be lawyers or doctors or nurses, but they are something that the world will eventually need them to be someday. We kill an important part of the world when we ignore the pure born knowledge of a child. I can imagine that the child that would have probably help Nigeria one day to lift up the world cup trophy is sitting somewhere in a bank acting as an accountant because of society and parental drive and that has affected everyone. I also plead with the youths that instead of reacting violently to rejection and condemnation, try on your own, build what you love about yourself, believe in yourself, don't let what they say about you become you. You are not stupid, you are not a thief, you are not a taut, you are someone important, someone made out of love, for greatness. Tap into that love, recognize your potentials and build on them, if school, society, church thinks you are stupid, come to the streets, Jesus was rejected everywhere even at home, but in the streets he found family, shelter and there he accomplished his work. Take a walk out, meet people, discuss your ideas, let them laugh, let them mock, eventually the right ears will listen, I really believe they is someone out there waiting to listen to you, someone in need of your stupidity. Where you have been cursed, bless yourself, where you have been rejected, accept yourself, let true wisdom, that comes from self love and self trust guide you, Amen.
